Are there penalties for cancelling early?

The minimum commitment on a monthly plan is 30 days. 

If you are in a 3, 6, or 12 month plan, and cancel before your subscription period is up, there is a restocking fee of $849. If you are passed your contract term of 3, 6 or 12 months, your subscription will auto renew on a 30 day basis.

If you'd like to schedule your return and you're on a monthly plan, or have completed your initial contact term, you can do so at any time! Unless 14 days notice has been provided, your subscription will be billed for the whole month.

If you wish to have days prorated, you must provide a minimum of 14 days notice from your return date.

Damage disclosure & mileage overage?

If you have damage on your vehicle, or are over mileage, we require you to disclose this information in the return call with your Roam Subscription Success Manager. This will help prepare you for the next steps, ands ensure you have all the information you need 

What do I need to bring for my return handoff?

On your return, you only need to have your driver's license present. The team will complete a quick inspection and have you on your way. Please ensure that all mats, snow brushes, and accessories are in the vehicle. These will be accounted for in the return inspection, and you might be responsible for any missing acccessories.

How long does the actual return take?

The return will take between 10-15 minutes to complete. A Roam technician complete a return inspection of the vehicle and document it's condition. To ensure we are the most productive with your time, its best to arrive 5 minutes early so we have a team member available to assist.

When you get to the office, you will be greeted by the Roam team.

Gas Refueling

When you return the vehicle, the fuel level should be at the same level when you received the vehicle. If we have to fill up the tank, we charge the customer the price per litre in the local market (meaning at a gas station in the area) on the day of refueling. This charge will be applied to the customer’s account. 

Cleaning Expectations 

Our rule of thumb is that your vehicle should be in the same condition it was given to you. The vehicle should be relatively clean with the tank fuelled up.

  • All personal belongings should be removed

  • All garbage and trash should be removed

  • If your vehicle is returned with interior stains, odours, bodily fluids, or pet hair we will charge you a deep cleaning fee of $250

  • You don't need to wash your car, however that is always appreciated! If the vehicle needs to be detailed or deep cleaned, we will charge you.

  • Note that interior damage like rips, tears or scratches are treated as car damage

Can I get into the same vehicle when I come back?

Unfortunately, do to the nature of our business it is quite difficult to guarantee availability of a vehicle after it has been returned. Most of our subscribers keep their vehicles for periods of 6+ months, and due to the flexibility of our cancellation policy, we are unable to hold vehicles.

Can I keep my deposit on file?

Yes! You have the option to keep your deposit on file if you plan on coming back, and only intend on freezing your subscription. This makes billing more convenient!

How will damage be billed?

On the return vehicle inspection, any damage will be reconciled. Roam takes between 2-5 days to prepare a quote for any work to be completed. The reason for the delay is that we shop the best price from our vendors. Once the quote has been sourced, we transparently provide it to you, and can use the refundable security deposit on file to pay towards it.

If you have signed up for RoamCare, your Subscription Success Manager will help you understand the amount you are responsible for in the event of an accident or damage repair.

Damage is responsible to be paid in full up the limit of the deductible, and in certain exceptions a payment plan may be offered by Roam.

When do I get my refundable security deposit back?

Both your deposit and any other outstanding charges will all be settled within 10 business days!
