Roam's Driver Requirements

As all Roam vehicles include insurance, you must meet our insurance provider's requirements.

 

Ontario G Licence Holders (Using Roam Insurance)

• Minimum age of 23
• No major violations or tickets in the last 3 years
• No major criminal convictions or moving violations in the last 3 years
• No current demerit points
• Must meet our minimum credit requirement of 650 (Roam's credit score verification does not affect or impact your credit score)
• Must have a valid G level Ontario licence
  G1 Class: Prohibited
  G2 Class: Prohibited
  G Class (or higher): Permitted

Ontario G Licence Holders (Bring Your Own Insurance)

• Minimum age of 23
• No major violations or tickets in the last 3 years
• No major criminal convictions or moving violations in the last 3 years
• No current demerit points
• Must meet our minimum credit requirement of 650 (Roam's credit score verification does not affect or impact your credit score)
• Valid Credit Card (secured/prepaid credit cards are not accepted for bring your own insurance)
• Must have a valid G level Ontario licence
  G1 Class: Prohibited
  G2 Class: Prohibited
  G Class (or higher): Permitted
• Must have proof of personal insurance coverage through the following:
  1. Credit Card Insurance (Must show they have coverage for replacement value)
  2. Automobile policy (OPCF 27)

Canadian Licence Holders (Using Roam Insurance)

• Minimum age of 23

• No major criminal convictions or moving violations in the last 3 years
• No current demerit points
• Must meet our minimum credit requirement of 650 (Roam's credit score verification does not affect or impact your credit score)
• Must submit a 'Motor Vehicle Report/MVR' (For select provinces only):
  Insurance will need to see licence duration, infractions, and general licence history
  (must be issued from the same province your licence is issued from)
• Must have a valid licence above the learner's class

**Select provinces will be asked to provide a 'Motor Vehicle Report' / 'Driving Record' which can be requested from your official provincial licensing website (ex. Service Ontario)**

Canadian Licence Holders (Outside of Ontario, Bring Your Own Insurance)

• Minimum age of 23
• No major violations or tickets in the last 3 years
• No major criminal convictions or moving violations in the last 3 years
• No current demerit points
• Must meet our minimum credit requirement of 650 (Roam's credit score verification does not affect or impact your credit score)
• Valid Credit Card (secured/prepaid credit cards are not accepted for bring your own insurance)
• Must submit a 'Motor Vehicle Report/MVR' (For select provinces only):
