Roam's Driver Requirements

As all Roam vehicles include insurance, you must meet our insurance provider's requirements.

 

Driver Requirements

G and G2 Ontario Licence Holders (G1 PROHIBITED)

  • Valid Ontario G licence (G2 drivers must have 1 year experience completed or transferred)
  • Minimum credit score of 550
  • Minimum age of 23
  • No major violations or tickets in the last 3 years
  • No more than 6 demerit points

For all other Canadian drivers:

  • Valid provincial licence
  • Minimum credit score of 550
  • Minimum age of 23
  • No major violations or tickets in the last 3 years
  • No more than 6 demerit points

**Select provinces will be asked to provide a 'Motor Vehicle Report' / 'Driving Record' which can be requested from your official provincial licensing website (ex. Service Ontario)**

Requirements For International Licence Holders

  • Must provide a 'Letter of Experience or Policy Breakdown' containing:
    - Driver's full name
    - Full policy length
    - Confirmation of all or no claims
    1 year minimum insurance experience required for international licences
  • Must Provide a 'Driver's Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)' / 'Driver's Abstract' containing:
    - Driver's full name
    - All driver's licence infractions
    - Total length of licence experience
    Often provided by the ministry of transportation/governing body which issues licences. (Roam is not able to source or translate these documents)
    1 years minimum driving experience required for international licences
  • Must have a valid international licence
  • Must be a minimum of 23 years old

**All 3 Documents (Driver's Licence, Letter of Experience, and Motor Vehicle Report) MUST be issued from the same country NO exceptions**
