Common issues for license upload and selfie verification

Trouble uploading your license? 

Common reasons why the license upload may not be accepted:

  • You are under 23 years old
  • Expired license
  • Insufficient lighting
  • Physical card is not being used (A photo on the computer, a photocopy, or a digital version might not work correctly)
  • The licence is not a 'Valid G, or G2 Ontario License' (International or G1 Licences will not work)
  • You are taking a photo of your licence incorrectly (we require a photo of the front and back

If you are uploading a 'temporary' Ontario paper license certificate, or are attempting a Non-Ontario license upload, you can manually upload your license by clicking here.

*Please note, our insurance is not able to provide to support drivers under the age of 23 at this time.*

Driver's License & Selfie Verification Steps

It's recommended you upload your Driver's License as soon as you enter your dashboard so our team can begin your insurance registration immediately. Your insurance registration can take up to 3 business days, by uploading your licence, we can help ensure you're setup to drive!


Step 1: Access Your Dashboard

When you login, please ensure you have your driver's licence handy!
Click the 'Upload Licence' button when you're ready to continue.

**It's recommended to complete the entire verification process on a mobile device**


Step 2: Driver's Licence Verification

Select Canada as your government ID country and take a photo of the front and back of your Driver's Licence.

Step 3: Selfie Verification

You will now need to complete a quick selfie verification. Please look directly at the camera and ensure the following:

  • Your full face must be clearly visible
  • You are not completing the selfie verification on behalf of another person
  • You are representing the true likeness of your verified ID

Please note: if you're on desktop, you'll see the option to scan the QR code to continue your application.
