You can drive with Roam with a non-Ontario license but we require some additional information
If you do not have an Ontario G or G2 physical licence, you can still drive with Roam! However, there are just a few extra pieces of information you need to complete your profile before you can continue.

If you are not logged into your account or do not have an account, you will be required to login and create an account before you can continue to upload your licence.
Once you are logged into your account, you will now have access to your personalized licence portal!
In this portal you will see the necessary information required by insurance to verify your eligibility
Step 2: Upload Your Driver's Licence
When you are uploading a licence through this portal, it is required that:
- You are uploading an International, Non-Ontario, Temporary Paper G or G2 licence
- You are uploading a photo of the front of your licence only
- You meet all of our Driver Requirements criteria
Step 3: Upload Selfie for Verification
When you are uploading a your selfie to verify that you are the licence holder it is required that:
- Your full face must be clearly visible
- You are not completing the selfie verification on behalf of another person
- You are representing the true likeness of your verified ID
- If you are uploading a licence that does not have a photo, you must hold up another piece of photo ID along with your licence in the selfie to verify your identity
Step 4: Confirm your Licence Details

You're almost done, the last step is to ensure that all your licence information is entered to complete your profile!
Requirements For International and Non-Ontario Licences:
In order to process your licence successfully, you will need to modify your input for 'Licence Class' and 'Address on Licence'.
- Licence Class or Type = Name of Country, State, or Province licence is issued from
- Address on Licence = Address where you will be primarily residing in Ontario
*Temporary paper licence holders can fill out all the fields as normal stating their class as G or G2 and inputting the address on the licence*
Step 5: Send Additional Documents (For International and Non-Ontario Licences)
Now that you've submitted your information, your last step is to send us your additional documents!
Temporary G or G2 Paper Licence holders are excluded from providing additional documents
As mentioned in our International and Non-Ontario Requirements, you will have to:

Provide a 'Letter of Experience or Policy Breakdown' (shows policy length and claim details) from last/most recent auto insurance provider used
- Provide a 'Driver's Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)' / 'Driver's Abstract' (shows driving infractions and licence history) often provided by the ministry of transportation/governing body which issues licences
**Both documents are REQUIRED for International and Non-Ontario licences**
